july 19th, 2019 – succurro, East Meredith, NY

The fourth version of SOLEANDOJUNTXS, took place during the succurro FESTIVAL, inside an old barn at this arts & healing center in East Meredith, NY.

I spent the few days prior to the ceremony in preparation, of myself, the space, and the materials. I twisted strands of bailing twine (following the process that my hammock-making teacher Esmeralda uses to make cord out of Maguey fiber), washed them in the nearby creek, in prayer, and let them dry with the summer sun.

This ceremony was my offering to the community in celebration of concluding 9 months of being a Fellow at succurro, a period of deep self-inquiry and working with energy healing, both alone and with others.

I used SourcePoint Therapy principles to build a score for the session: Order, Balance, Harmony, Flow, and the idea of guardianship. We had an afternoon of silence, and breathing, and moving, and sweating, and resting– of exploring holding ourselves, each other, and also to be held. This while making emergent a structure that reflects the fullness of being alive.
